St. Helena Pergola

The client approached Chandlerworkshop during a full remodel/addition to their newly purchased property, overlooking Sulphur Creek. There was a vision to create an outdoor retreat for his family, though the landscape design and exterior spaces were not yet imagined. Chandlerworkshop designed a self supporting pergola that connects the two residential buildings. Acting as the main entryway to the great room addition, the pergola creates an intimate indoor/outdoor seating area, with stunning views over the creek and vineyards. The metal roof with a circular skylight allows the cool breeze to pass through, yet offers respite from the hot summer heat. The vertical board formed concrete walls offer a modern feel, while creating privacy from the street and sidewalk.

ChandlerWorkshop designed the door handles as well as the wooden teak door that leads to this backyard oasis.

Chandlerworkshop assisted with the landscape design, along with JAC Designs who handled the plant type selection. Steel planter boxes are still in the works and should be finished soon.

Construction and planting is just wrapping up; just in time for beautiful Spring weather here in the Napa Valley.
