Serving more as a pool house than an Accessory Dwelling Unit, its design is all about fun. A large awning window opens up to create a seamless interior/exterior countertop for easy cocktail serving while others are enjoying the pool. A small play loft entertains the kids and also serving as a light-well that increases the grandeur of the small space.
The interior features a fully equipped kitchen, space for a large sleeper sofa, TV/game shelves as well as a generous bathroom. What is also fun (and sustainable!) about this unit is that the exterior siding is re-claimed wood and corrugated metal expertly detailed by Josh Chandler Construction. Outside the large sliding glass doors is a metal trellis that looks out to the play structure and the rest of the back yard. Although this ADU is only 260 square feet, it packs in a lot of enjoyable niches for kids and adults alike. Completed photos coming soon.
